Study on the effect of drying conditions on the pyrolysis properties of rice husk

Drying can remove the moisture and volatile fraction from biomass to achieve purpose of improving pyrolysis performance feedstock. In this project, three different drying treatments (blast, vacuum microwave) were applied rice husk in order investigate effect conditions on pyrolytic properties husk. Thermogravimetric experiments performed materials at heating rates (10°C/min, 20 °C/min, 30 °C/min). Then TG DTG plots analyzed, kinetic parameters solved compared using FWO method. Experimental studies have shown that process be divided into stages, namely water loss stage, carbonization stage. At same rate, highest weight rate was achieved after microwave drying, with a maximum 97.1% 20°C/min. addition, increase temperature rise characteristic both blast showed changing trend increase, graphs movement toward high-temperature side, while basically unchanged. The activation energy all dried husks calculated by method reach conversion 0.6. average much greater than other two methods, indicating made more difficult pyrolyze.
